Tuition & FAQs
Still deciding if Simplifying Music is right for your family?
These are the questions we hear most often from new families. If you don't find your answer below, we'd love to help! Feel free to contact us anytime.
Tuition & Fees
How much is tuition?
Tiny Tots: $55/month
Group Classes: $80/month
Private Lessons: $50 per 30-minute lesson
Are there any additional fees?
There is a one-time $10 enrollment fee and a $10 materials fee each semester.
The best part? There is no recital fee! Family and friends are always welcome to attend and celebrate your student's accomplishments.
Classes
What ages do you teach?
We offer music classes for students ages 2 through adults. Whether you're looking for your toddler's first music experience or private lessons for yourself, there's a class for every stage.
Can beginners join?
Absolutely! Our classes are designed for complete beginners as well as students with previous music experience. We meet students where they are and help them build confidence through achievable weekly goals.
How long are lessons?
All group classes are 30 minutes long and meet once each week at the same day and time.
Do parents stay during class?
Parents are welcome to participate in our Tiny Tots (ages 2–3) classes.
For all other classes, we ask that parents drop off their student and return at the end of class so students can develop independence and confidence.
Do I need a piano?
Students enrolled in piano classes (ages 8+) should have access to a piano or full-size keyboard for home practice.
Students in Piano & Voice (ages 4–7) are not required to have a piano at home.
Attendance and Practice
What if we miss a class?
Life happens! Every student receives a structured curriculum, practice materials, and access to lesson videos. If your child misses a class, they'll have the resources they need to stay on track.
How much should my child practice?
We recommend 5–10 minutes of focused practice each day. Short, consistent practice sessions are more effective than long practice sessions once or twice a week.
Recitals
When are recitals?
Students have the opportunity to perform in two recitals each year—one in the fall (late November) and one in the spring (March or April).
Specific dates are shared with enrolled families at the beginning of each semester.
Is there a recital fee?
No! We believe every student should have the opportunity to perform without an additional recital fee. Family and friends are always welcome to attend.
Studio Policies
Where is the studio located?
Lessons are taught in our in-home studio in North Lehi near Belmont Elementary School. The exact address is shared after enrollment.
What is the commitment?
Enrollment is for the 2026-2027 school year so students can make consistent progress and build friendships within their class. Your child's class time is reserved exclusively for them.
How do I withdraw from lessons?
Once you enroll in a class, that is your class indefinitely. No needing to constantly re-enroll. If you choose not to continue after a semester, please notify the studio by the following dates:
-
May 1 – Withdraw before Summer Semester
-
July 15 – Withdraw before Fall Semester
-
December 1 – Withdraw before Spring Semester
Because class spots are reserved for each student, tuition cannot be refunded once a semester has begun.
How do I enroll?
Browse our current class schedule, find the class that best fits your family, and click Enroll. You'll complete your enrollment packet through Brightwheel, where you'll also set up tuition and studio communication. An email will be sent with a link to reserve the class(es) of your choice.
